Services & Fees

The H.O.P.E. Spay/Neuter Clinic is dedicated to fulfilling our mission of ending the overpopulation, homelessness and euthanasia of pet and feral cats and dogs in Connecticut. 

All appointments must be paid for in full at the time of booking, with the exception of rescue organizations, feral cat appointments, and for those animals with APCP Vouchers or other accepted vouchers.

All prices subject to change.

All surgery fees include: office visit, pre-surgical exam, pre & post-operative pain medications administered at clinic, fluids if necessary.

CATS
All healthy cats over the age of 8 weeks and weighing at least 2 pounds are eligible for surgery. Vaccinations are offered at the time of surgery only. (Animals must be 12 weeks of age to receive a rabies vaccine in the state of CT.) Appointments are required.

All cat owners, Connecticut cat rescue organizations and stray and feral caregivers may schedule appointments at our clinic.

Cats: $80 (male or female)(Discount applied for 501c3 rescues)

Rabies vaccination included, (Proof required if current, otherwise vaccine will be administered in accordance with CT state law.)

FVRCPC (5 in one Distemper Vaccine) Included, if not current or booster needed.

DOGS
Healthy dogs over the age of 8 weeks and weighing at least 2 pounds are eligible for surgery. Vaccinations are offered at the time of surgery only. (Animals must be 12 weeks of age to receive a rabies vaccine in the state of CT.)

Weight Maximum of 75 pounds (unless dog has an APCP voucher)
No dogs 6 years or older (unless in a 501c3 rescue org)

We also cannot provide service for cryptorchid dogs (undescended testicle). These dogs are best served by full service veterinary hospitals.

Dogs: $150 (male or female, 2-24 pounds)
          $200 (male or female, 25-49 pounds)
          $250 (male or female, 50-75 pounds)

Low Income Program:
Examples include Food Stamps, Husky A, Unemployment, SSI, Medicaid. Must provide proof. Must show proof of CURRENT participation in the above program(s) to be eligible.

Dogs: $100 (male or female, 2-24 pounds)
          $100 (male or female, 25-49 pounds)
          $150 (male or female, 50-75 pounds)

SPECIAL PROGRAMS
PIT BULLS– NOT FOR PIT BULL MIXES!! 
Will be determined by our veterinary staff.  If dog is a mix, eligible for the $100/$150 cost. Still must look like an obvious Pit mix.

$75 (any weight, 8 weeks and older)

FERAL CATS - Wild/Unsocialized
Any feral cat caregiver or organization is eligible for our reduced cost Feral Cat Program.

$45 (male or female)

Feral Cat Package includes:
Surgery, Rabies, Pain medication, Ear-tip (no exceptions), Fluids if necessary.  Other services available at the standard cost.

The feral cat package is not for tame or pet cats. If we determine that the cat is tame, normal prices will be charged. Ear tip is mandatory with the feral package. Feral cat must arrive in a humane trap. We do offer humane traps for loan ($45 refundable deposit) through our trap bank if available.

Any service listed below is available at time of surgery only for the additional fee.

Capstar (Kills live fleas): $5 (animals with live flees with be given Capstar)
Nail Trim: $10 (due to excessive lenth)
Ear Cleaning $10 (if staff deems necessary)
Exploratory Surgery Fee: $25 (determined by veterinarian)
In Heat, Pregnant: NO CHARGE

**Connecticut law requires that all pets be vaccinated for rabies. Clients must present a current rabies certificate (tag is not sufficient) on the day of surgery or the client's pet will be vaccinated for a $5 charge.
